From Alan Browne@21:1/5 to All on Sun Apr 7 12:19:41 2019

I bought several AMOD 3080 GPS' (Photo tracker GPS to time stamp photos
    after the fact) in 2009.

I just took one outside. There were no batteries in it for the past 6
or more months and it of course had not run in that time.

It began recording data about 1.5 minutes after power on and the file
was correctly time stamped with today's date.

(That price is ridiculous. I paid about US$45 for them back then in
    quantities of 8 or so).

That is indeed a stupid price!

USD 200? I have never paid more than $60+ for data loggers, even with
both USB & Bluetooth realtime connections, along with large logging
buffers so that they can be downloaded after the fact.

Now I'm looking for one with the at least GPS+Glonass+Galileo and
preferably also the Japanese and Chinese systems, in order to provide
much better tracking under a canopy. (For orienteering mapping).
