Tucker Carlson called out some on the left for "lecturing"
Americans about not "dehumanizing" other people, even when it
pertains to dangerous gang members.
"So many buffoons on TV," said Carlson after playing clips of
two pundits calling out President Trump for labeling MS-13
members as "animals."
"None of these people, by the way, live anywhere near any
neighborhood threatened by MS-13, so they can ignore the gang,"
said Carlson, noting that the gang's victims are overwhelmingly
other immigrants.
Trump made headlines last week with the comments at a roundtable
with California officials who are opposed to the state's
sanctuary law.
"You wouldn’t believe how bad these people are. These aren’t
people, these are animals, and we’re taking them out of the
country at a level and at a rate that’s never happened before,"
Trump said.
House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) called his
comments a "new low," claiming Trump was referring to
undocumented immigrants more broadly.
"This is one of the most violent gangs in the world," said
Suffolk County, N.Y. District Attorney Timothy Sini, emphasizing
that the gang's motto is "rape, kill and control."
Sini said authorities in the county were able to intercede in an
attempt by the gang to abduct a young Hispanic boy in Brentwood
last December. The area has been plagued in recent years by MS-
13 violence.
