Fox News contributor Katie Pavlich said Tuesday that there are
major questions about how the Obama administration handled the
2016 presidential election.
"Barack Obama spied on reporters," she said. "Why wouldn't he
spy on a political campaign when his legacy was at stake and he
needed Hillary Clinton to win?"
Pavlich's sentiments came aftere reports that an FBI “informant”
had multiple contacts with members of the Trump campaign during
the 2016 election.
She noted former U.N. ambassador Samantha Power "unmasked"
Americans whose names surfaced in foreign intelligence reporting.
"The bottom line is [that] a lot of this has happened under the
guise of non-transparency," Pavlich said.
The Justice Department was criticized in 2013 for naming then-
Fox News reporter James Rosen a "criminal co-conspirator" in
order to access his emails and phone records. Investigative
journalist Sharyl Attkisson alleged during the Obama
administration that her personal and work computers were hacked
by someone in the government.
The Justice Department over the weekend asked its watchdog to
look into any "impropriety or political motivation" in the FBI's
investigation of Russian interference in the 2016 election.
The move came hours after President Trump called for a review
looking into whether federal agents infiltrated or surveilled
his campaign for political purposes.
