when you allow manufacture of complicated devices
with no imposition to force recycling much of what
    gets produced will be trashed.

i've always thought that taxes should be imposed
in direct proportion to the amount of the objects
materials which do not get recycled and are not
easily biodegradeable or usable as an energy source.

this gives incentives to manufacturers to create
devices which can be fixed or more easily recycled.

cradle to grave thinking is critical. we should
not be trashing/poisoning our planet the way we are.
