Nicholas is around 135 km from CC and less than 50 km from the nearest
TX port town. It has slowed down over the last few hrs and delayed
landfall to early evening local time.

The floats within 100 mi of the center are now reading 6m+ waves.
Given they were averaging around 0.5m a couple days back it seems
there will be a bit of a strom surge and maybe the NHC estimated peak
    surge will be an under-estimate.

Some mets are putting rainfall at 20" also over the NHC current
    warnings of "only" upto 10".

floats every few hrs at <kymhorsell.com/NICHOLAS>.
