I haven't TIGed for 5 years, what do I set the gas flow level at.
Tigging aluminum, 1-1/2" square tube, 1/8" wall to 1/4" plate.
                              Thanks, Mikek

I usually run around 10-15 scfm depending on whether I'm using a gas
lens or regular cup and what size cup/lens . Too much is as bad or worse
than not enough .

Finally a real person using a gas lens. Not just somebody on YouTube
hawking wares or denigrating wares they don't get a kickback from.
So what do you think of the whole gas lens thing?
don't have any current to heat the metal.
I've tried every thing I know of. Here's a picture of my panel settings.

I have the ground clip connected to Neg and the Tig Torch connected to
pos.
I've tried the torch switch and foot switch, both give me gas and HF
arc, but no current.
This did work, when I put it away 5 years ago.
                                          Thanks for your help, Mikek

I noted that when I have the current set to read 180at maximum and try
to TIG, the HF arcs and
the current reading drops to 35. after I stop the HF arc it takes 10
seconds and the reading increases back to 180.

I have a Powertig 250 EX , mine is set up with the 'trode negative .
Recently I had a problem with my machine , erratic and just wierd .
Taking the case off and blowing the cobwebs and dust out brought it
all back ... they do advise doing that from time to time .

I did pop the cover, not so much to blow cobwebs out as I had it
covered for 5 years, so it's clean. But I was hoping to find a poor connection,
no such luck. Is there such a thing as a schematic available for an
Everlast Powertig 200 DX?

I think it does give you slightly better shielding by diffusing the shield gas . I also think a round piece of scotchbrite pad slid up into
the cup will do about as good at a much much lower cost .
