• Cheaper alternative to IRLML2060

From Pimpom@21:1/5 to All on Wed Oct 23 12:35:04 2024
I've been looking for some time for a jelly bean MOSFET with these specs: Id(max) ~1A
    Vds >/= 30V
    Rds(on) <1 ohm
    Qg <1nC
    Ciss <100pF

A big brother to the 2N7000/7002. The IRLML2060 seems to fit the bill
nicely but I'm having trouble finding it here in India. A bit pricey for
    a jelly bean part anyway.

    Any suggestions?

    Parallel a few 2n7002 ?

But seriously, there should be literally thousands of parts fitting your
wants, I have found Diodes inc, Infineon, AO, Nxperia, Rohm, all have
nearly identical offerings in that space. It depends so much on your
favourite local distributor - do LCSC serve India?

For example BSS806 (only a 20v part so not in your spec) is as cheap as
2N7002 from some places but ten times more from others etc.

    I have AO3400 & 3401, about US$0.03 from AliExpress before India blocked

I need to switch about 1 amp at up to 80 volts into a resistive load, preferably logic level gate, and board area is critical. A dpak is
kinda big. I wish some SOT23 could do it

I don't understand why anyone would bother to make a mosfet for 3
cents, or a diode for 1 cent, or a resistor for a tenth of a cent.

    AOSS62934 - SOT-23, 100V, 2A, 0.12 ohm, 250pF, 1.8nC(4.5V).

The DMN is nice. Good for 10 amps with 5 volts on the gate.

    7 cents by the reel!

That's cool. I do have a 5 volt supply, and could add a sort of
cap-diode thing to cheat up to 6 volts gate drive, but it looks pretty
    good at 5.

Did you measure them? I got one batch that measured 647pF and 0.97

higher Rdson, so not really AO3400, but were closer to your spec
than real AO3400. Of course, trouble with AliExpress is that
you do not know what you will get, especially concerning mosfets
(sellers routinly sell much smaller mosfets marked as bigger ones).

Those look like normal volume prices for comodity parts. There are
computer boards with few big chips and hundreds of small parts in
20-40$ range. How much small parts can cost if board maker and middle

    PMV213 or DMN10H220 ?

My guys spent a day packing parts on both sides

    https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/hzon9r05qrqwgya9s3f5f/Z578_Template_A10.jpg?rlkey=fbxtrrt5oc182jo3absgdpt6p&raw=1

so I'll probably have lots of room, so I can use a gigantic DPAK fet.

This layout is the "template" for a product line of PoE instruments.
All the boards will have this foundation, which we call Alice. Then
specific products will fill the right side with Bob parts. Alice only
takes 1/3 of the board, so I probably don't need to fight for every
    hundredth of a square inch.
