You can find out what voltage a 75V rated 1N4148 actually breaks down at
etc. Because the current is limited it is non-destructive to some things
(not capacitors, but I was interested to see a 25V rated ceramic
capacitor actually only shorted at 760V).
Because it goes to 2700V you too can verify John Larkin's test on 1400V
rated FETs.
It is cute because it fits a shirt pocket.
