• Brain imaging identifies biomarkers of mental illness

From Fred Bloggs@21:1/5 to All on Fri Nov 10 11:12:28 2023
Finding poised to revolutionize diagnosis of lunacy with objective and straightforward AI analysis of neuroimaging results. This will benefit society greatly, for example, demented lunatics like Trump can be impartially disqualified from running for
office. Many other unhinged individuals can be removed from positions of authority. Just the fact of being a moron is not enough, as society considers that measure too subjective.

You'd have to buy access to the actual paper to find out. Most of those neat diagnostic categories out to be a lot less neat when you get closer to the biological fundamentals, so the answer may well be no.

How do you make money out of diagnosing people as lunatics on the basis of reliable and reproducible objective evidence?

If you could fake the evidence there would be endless money-making schemes, and some regard psychiatry as one of them.

far more likely to be just another medical scam.

How do you make money out of diagnosing people as lunatics on the basis of reliable and reproducible objective evidence?

It's not a challenge to work out how to make money out of research, diagnosing people, resulting clinical 'care' etc.

If you could fake the evidence there would be endless money-making schemes, and some regard psychiatry as one of them.

It is. It's not too hard to swing research to end up with data tht appears to show some novel wondrous phenomenon, which in reality does not exist. It's done all the time, just read medical research.

    Can brain imaging spot paranoia?
You'd have to buy access to the actual paper to find out. Most of those neat diagnostic categories out to be a lot less neat when you get closer to the biological fundamentals, so the answer may well be no.

Seems to be an automation of some the diagnostic testing in use for almost 100 years. There's at least one test given to the criminally insane involving reproduction of patterns that's uncannily accurate. An experienced diagnostician can look at the test
results and say with near perfect accuracy just exactly and specifically what insane behavior was committed without knowing anything at all about the perpetrator. The fact of almost all the different kinds of insanity exhibiting characteristic and nearly
identical distortions in their pattern reproductions tells me the illness is of biological origin, which includes brain deformities.
