    On the contrary. Jan is - for once - gloriously on-topic.

    It's not a "new quantum effect" but rather a new way of looking at spin - which is a long established quantum effect

    It is relevant here, since spintronics may end up as useful part of practical electronics. A a doesn't have a clue about that either.
