    In the May 22 to June 4, 2023) issue of Aviation Week, on page 5,
    there was a very interesting long letter from Greg A Lloyd of Pullman, Washington, to the editor on the practicalities of the Hydrogen
    Economy, in particular as it applies to aircraft propulsion.
    Basically, it's not even close to practical, and he lays it out point
    by point.

    Sadly, this is behind a paywall, but large libraries will likely have
    this issue on hand.

    Why not just put the Small Modular Nuclear Reactor on the airplane?

    R-R periodically commits economic suicide, and they seem to be on
    schedule.

    Yes, it's great when combined with carbon.

    Nitrogen works too, and you can burn ammonia or hydrazine without making global warming worse. Boron hydrides are trickier

    Why not just put the Small Modular Nuclear Reactor on the airplane?

    They aren't commercial available, and nobody wants Chernoyl crashing in their back yard.
