Concerns degradation of SiC FETs under pulse conditions. I hope this is interesting for you. (or anyone else, for that matter)

That is exactly the same SiC Fet, C2M0280120D, that I use in my 1400
volt Pockels Cell driver. It has run at 4M pulses per second for
months at a time, with no sign of fet degradation. It can do 1500 volt >pulses, but only at 1 MHz. The fet seems to leak pretty seriously at
about 1700 volts.

I'm driving the gate hard, about +18 and -10. Pulsed drain current is
huge, past the specified abs max for sure.
Interesting, thanks.
I don't look at Youtube much any more. My ad blockers quit working and
the ads are too annoying.

I use Firefox or Pale Moon with the uBlock Origin add-on. I *never* see
an advert when playing a YouTube video. As Google amends YouTube to get
their ads through, so uBlock adds to its filters to stop them. Just
allow uBlock to update automatically and you won't see another ad.

gate leakage monitoring I wonder?

Probably never. The driver shouldn't damage the fet, and if it did see >leakage, what should it do?
