You assumes it IS 99% likely. Often without evidence. Or reason.
You're not making any sense. If I say there's a 75% chance of rain and it
doesn't rain, you can't say I was wrong. The % is a guess, it doesn't need to
be accurate.
Good you see your claims are not accurate. That was sorta my point -- you make
up inaccurate claims and want them to be accepted by me and others.
When something is 99% likely, you go with it, not worry about it.
Snit AKA Michael Glasser is a complete idiot.
Trying to converse with him is like trying to dicuss string theory with a 5yo.
A waste of time.
Indeed. He doesn't like me anymore anyway. I made fun of the religion he
claims to no longer be.
You made a bigoted attack...

The fact you think in terms of
your group being the only one you can consider being offended about speaks a lot about you.

Exactly. But he will play victim over it.
"First they came for the socialists, and I did not speak out—because I was not
a socialist.
Then they came for the trade unionists, and I did not speak out— because I was

Bullshit, I make fun of many groups all the time, you only got properly upset when it was about Jews. The ones who like to start wars and can't handle it when someone beats them at their own game. The only group who try to get laws passed specifically to protect them. But then that's their whole way of life, don't do any work yourselves, just sue everyone else.

Since when have I said "my group" (whatever that is) was offended? Atheist? Caucasian? You'll never find either of those objecting to being made fun of. Probably because we don't do weird shit to get made fun of.

You'll be defending lesbian pigs next:

What should I learn?
That you are not more important nor any more special than others. That other's
beliefs are just as valid EVEN IF you do not believe as they do. That your intuitions are not somehow special.
This right here is why you will always be a bigot and not someone I wish to associate with.

I wish people would learn from this.
What should I learn?
That you are not more important nor any more special than others. That other's
beliefs are just as valid EVEN IF you do not believe as they do. That your intuitions are not somehow special.
Why on earth would I want to think that? I know religious people are inferior.
It's been scientifically proved, intelligence is indirectly proportional to belief.
You need a small amount of intelligence to create the fictitious being in your mind, so cats and dogs are not religious. But as you get even more intelligent, you realise it's just in your imagination.
If I don't speak out for the people I don't give a shit about, they'll all go away and I'll be left with like minded people?

One of my favorite examples is Georges Lemaître, the Catholic priest who came up with the Big Bang theory. He was a contemporary of Einstein and
they had a somewhat antagonistic relationship. I don't know if it was influenced by religion but Einstein believed in a steady state universe to the point of introducing a 'cosmological constant' to make his math come

My question is if Einstein's belief in a steady state universe to the
point of skewing his results was more of less religious than Lemaître's belief in Christ?

I like to equate this also with Maxwell's Equations. Other people's
equations all seemed to work together as a funtional unit except for one small problem. Like four meshed gears with one gear missing some teeth. Maxwell 'patched' this problem with 'displacement current' and
everything fell into place.

IMO there is nothing wrong with creating a fudge factor which works and
then trying to validate its mathematical or physical existence or
determine its numerical value.

Don't think it is. The expanding universe is pretty well established.

Hardly. This is simply scientific debate of two opposing views given the
same scientific evidence. He admitted he was wrong ultimately. The opposite of religious dogma.

Correct both things can be true: on average religious people have lower IQs than non-religious, a religious person is more intelligent than CK.
In fact I'd argue the latter is highly likely.

IQ is highly dodgy. You can train people to do better at it and it also assumes a certain type of (western) education so cannot be an ubiquitous measure of intelligence. It is also a relative score where "average" normalised to 100 so is highly dependent on what is determined to be "average".

then insist that is tied to genetics they are showing a severe lack of understanding of the history of the test.

No, average 'for the data set' will always be 100.
Comparing two sets is wrong-headed.

It is a subset and not part of the generalization but I've always
been curious about very religious people who are also very
intelligent. There seems to be a compartmentalization rather like
some of the Buddhist master talking about everyday truth and
ultimate truth.
One of my favorite examples is Georges Lemaître, the Catholic priest

Einstein and they had a somewhat antagonistic relationship. I don't

expanding universe, which was supported by Hubbell's observations.
Einstein later called the constant one of his bigger mistakes. The
question is still open.
I like to equate this also with Maxwell's Equations. Other people's
equations all seemed to work together as a funtional unit except for
one small problem. Like four meshed gears with one gear missing some
teeth. Maxwell 'patched' this problem with 'displacement current' and
everything fell into place.
My question is if Einstein's belief in a steady state universe to
the point of skewing his results was more of less religious than
Lemaître's belief in Christ?
IMO there is nothing wrong with creating a fudge factor which works
and then trying to validate its mathematical or physical existence or
determine its numerical value.
Interesting snippet here:-
https://bigthink.com/13-8/lemaitre-priest-proved-einstein-wrong/
I still think that there is another, as yet undiscovered, reason for
large scale doppler effects. IMO steady-state is not dead.

In any event, government censorship is wrong. Private entities
naturally censor speech. Everything from me controlling what's
said in my own home, to film studios preventing scriptwriters
from using the word "fuck", to newspapers deciding which letters
to the editor they will publish, and so on.
alt.home.repair will never be moderated. Anybody who wants moderation
should go to Facebook or something.

You must watch different films than i do. iirc it was '69 when I went to a Jefferson Airplane concert. Gracie Slick got the ball rolling by asking,

probably wasn't but the cops didn't haul her away.

Not all studios or all films, obviously. But they'll say "We want this
film to have a PG-13 rating, so you can use the word 'fuck' once, at most."

I once saw a movie that would have been 30% shorter if they'd
skipped the word 'fuck'. A worthless movie, even then, anyway.
I don't remember its title. Some crime flick. A waste of time.

Fuck is one of the most useful words in the English language.
The movie My cousin Vinie makes good use of it.

GEORGE CARLIN AND THE "F" WORD
From the Safety Harbor Institute of Technology, January, 1989
George Carlin was only a moderately successful comic
until, like many performers, he stepped over the the line of what
society would tolerate in that era. Carlin's method was to
create a semi-sophisticated dissertation on a word that everybody
knew, but NOBODY would say....then.
He made a record of it, and some
radio statons played - it, and....the FCC reacted strongly,
ordering one station off the air. Obviously, public curiosity
made sales of the record skyrocket and George Carlin's career was
made. Here's the text of that then-famous record, all about the
usefulness of the "F-word." In today's society, where it gets
bandied about so much, one might do well to understand just what
one can use it for: "Perhaps one of the most interesting words
in the English language today is the word 'Fuck.'
It is the one magical word. Just by its sound you can describe
pain, pleasure, hate and love. 'Fuck,' as most words in the
English language, takes its name from the German word 'friken'
which means 'to strike.'
"In language, 'Fuck' falls into many grammatical categories.
It can be used as a verb, both transitive (John fucked Mary) and
intransitive (Mary was fucked by John); as an adverb (Mary is
fucking-well interested in John), and as a noun (Mary is a fine
fuck). It can be used as an adjective (Mary is fucking
beautiful). As you can see, there are not many words with the
versatility of the word 'fuck.' "Besides the sexual meaning,
there are also the following uses:
Fraud.........I got fucked at the used car lot.
Ignorance.....Fuck if I know.
Trouble.......I guess I'm fucked now.
Aggression....Fuck you.
Difficulty....I can't understand this fucking mess.
Displeasure...What the fuck is going on here ?
Incompetence..He's a fuck off.
Suspicion.....What the fuck are you doing ?
Enjoyment.....This is a fucking good time.
Request.......Get the fuck out of here.
Hostility.....I'm going to knock your fucking head off.
"I know you can think of many more uses, but with all these,
how can anyone be offended when you say 'fuck' ? "We can use
this unique word more often in our daily speech.
It adds to your prestige; say it loud and clear..... FUCK YOU
!!!"

The word is so useful that it's useless. All it means now is that
someone wants to use a generic bad word. As a bad word, it's worn out.
Blasphemy used to serve that function.

You must watch different films than i do. iirc it was '69 when I went
to a Jefferson Airplane concert. Gracie Slick got the ball rolling by
asking, very innocently, 'Is it legal to say "fuck" in Albany New
York?' It probably wasn't but the cops didn't haul her away.
Not all studios or all films, obviously. But they'll say "We want
this film to have a PG-13 rating, so you can use the word 'fuck' once,
at most."
Did you happen to see "Johnny Dangerously"?
Yes, I did, you fargin' bastidge.

But he believes in the wrong god. You "know" Christianity is correct.
I am an atheist... but what matter is how people treat others.
Why be nice to morons who believe in god? You know god doesn't exist, you know

I know YOU are wrong to be a bigot.
You treat people poorly and put yourself above others,

One other time-wasting word nowadays is right?

I never watched that one but it sounds like 'Firefly'. They got creative including muttering what presumably were Chinese curses.

Ratings are ridiculous. There's not a single child who hasn't heard the word fuck and knows what it means.

In the May Scientific American there was an article about public

just have to set it up right and run it frequently enough.
Bill
Kinsey's right: abolish it.

Why would you think it's wrong to poke fun at the inferior?
It shows you are inferior.
You think someone who says something is that thing themselves?
https://yourlogicalfallacyis.com/composition-division
You took something specific, the idea that one who poke fun of those who are inferior is showing a sign of inferiority themselves, and sought to apply it elsewhere. What made you make that jump?
Are you one of those clowns who thinks a homophobic is a homosexual?
Evidence shows that homophobic TEND to react to homosexual stimuli with more arousal than those who are not homophobic.

My views are simple, even you should be able to understand them.
Why not discuss what is happening instead of arguing straw men?
How you can stop being so self centered, bigoted, and egotistical.
You ignored this.
Nor does it mean an intelligent person is a moral person.
True, it could mean you can take advantage of others, which is fun.
And someone could be allowing intelligence and morals.

I am an atheist. I have no issue with atheism. I have an issue with bigotry.
You have an issue with bigotry against the morons you've decided are
wrong. This is illogical. So why are your lot blowing up the Muslims?

That you are not more important nor any more special than others. That other's
beliefs are just as valid EVEN IF you do not believe as they do. That your
intuitions are not somehow special.
Why on earth would I want to think that?
Only if you want to be a decent person would you want to. You have no desire

"Decent" is not logical.
Logical or not, it is wrong of him. He thinks he is better than others NOT >>> based on actions but based on his thoughts.

Many religious people are good people. You have no desire to be as good as

It means most are. So being male gives you a height advantage. There

On average men are taller than women. It does not mean any given men is taller than any given women.
