• OT: Will the EU pay with rubles for Russian gas/oil?

From John Doe@21:1/5 to All on Sun Apr 3 22:28:42 2022
As you probably already know (not from mainstream media)... Russia demands hostile countries use rubles to pay for Russian oil and gas (henceforth
"gas", seems that's the most used terminology). That's one of Russia's responses to sanctions. Apparently that demand has helped Russia's economy.

The question is... How many Russia-hostile countries sucking on Russian gas pipes are willing to pay in rubles? Apparently the cutoff date is about the
    end of this month.

As of today, seems there are 3 European Union (EU) country decisions.

Lithuania, Hungary, and Slovakia. Lithuania says No to Russia. Hungary and Slovakia say they can't live without Russian gas, so they will comply.

BAT SHIT CRAZY Germany is still balking at the idea, kicking and screaming
like Godzilla's baby. That will be a riot, if it happens that Russia turns
off Germany's gas, to see how LUNATIC Germans cope, considering the fact Germans are already suffering the pain of destroying their own nuclear power plants while burning a record amount of dirty coal, in their effort to run on windmills and unicorns.

John Doe's about German energy policy are bat shit crazy, but he's too dumb to notice.

Or none that Russia Today will tell Cursitor Doom about. The local fossil fuel extraction industry is enjoying the higher prices that the Russian idiocy has given them, but Russia Today isn't going to mention that.

    Hi Billy
The US ('merrica if you want), wants war for its 'Military Industrial Complex'

After nuking Japanese civilians in the cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki, poisoning N Vietnamese with Agent Orange,
polluting Iraq with depleted uranium ammo, making war in Afghanistan to breed poppy for opium for the US generals
all in countries far away from the US...
Bil Clignon (the one from Monica) and other deamon-crates also started a war in Europe.
That Military Industrial Complex gets more and more money that is sucked from the poor 'merrican tax payers.
Makes ever more lethal weapons, COVID was one of the latest, for that they build laboratories far away from their bed
but this time it backfired in a big way and got out of control.
Nothing new though in killing their own people
atomic tests in Nevada ... injecting their own people with plutonium without their consent [1], I think they designed HIV too
got out of control in the same way.
So after Afghanistan they needed a new playing ground, broke the treaty with Russia about Ukrain,
and now sell loads of weapons to countries that need new ones as those now donate the old ones to Ukrain.
Zelensky was a comedian and was recruited by the CIA and speaks their words. The war must go on as long as possible so the US Military Industrial Complex can keep selling and taxing (they make money both ways)
until the world has had enough and unites and nukes it into oblivion,
Or maybe it will just self-destruct.

    [1]
I have this from their own source: Smithsonian channel
    https://www.tvguide.co.uk/mobile/channellisting.asp?ch=1243#576644515
about US atomic program secrets, broadcast yesterday, will be repeated I am sure, watched it via satellite on Astra2 here.

Seems unlikely. The US detected the war preparations and warned, but
any other connection with the Ukraine conflict is... stretching the point.

After nuking Japanese civilians in the cities Hiroshima and Nagasaki,

(industrial port cities, full of war-related businesses)

poisoning N Vietnamese with Agent Orange,

The toxin in the defoliant Agent Orange was an impurity that affected folk in contact.
Those poisoned were US military personnel, operating away from dense populations,
    and in South Vietnam.

Any N Vietnamese affected were tourists...

polluting Iraq with depleted uranium ammo,

It's dense stuff, doesn't spread much (so can be cleaned up) , but yeah, it's toxic. It's used in antitank weapons.

making war in Afghanistan to breed poppy for opium for the US generals

Not at all how the US and other NATO countries see it; the assault launched from
that country killed thousands here. Sounds like a canard.

The rest of the litany is likewise slanted, largely rubbish.

The US military industrial complex won't get much money out of a Russian invasion of the Ukraine, and they won't have any influence at all on Putin, who seems to be the guy who ordered the invasion. What they might want doesn't really seem to be all

Anybody can look up the headlines. There are none from "Russian Today" but there are a bunch (more) from Russia Today which are unnecessary to cite.

The only important holdout is Germany, but they will come around unless
they are truly INSANE. As the other poster suggested, maybe they will
quietly give in. Seems they are backing themselves into a corner.

    Nowhere near enough.

The question is... How many Russia-hostile countries sucking on Russian gas pipes are willing to pay in rubles? Apparently the cutoff date is about the end of this month.

As of today, seems there are 3 European Union (EU) country decisions. >> > Lithuania, Hungary, and Slovakia. Lithuania says No to Russia. Hungary and Slovakia say they can't live without Russian gas, so they will comply.

Germany is still balking at the idea, kicking and screaming like Godzilla's baby. That will be a riot, if it happens that Russia turns
off Germany's gas, to see how Germans cope, considering the fact Germans are already suffering the pain of destroying their own nuclear power plants while burning a record amount of dirty coal, in their effort to run on windmills and unicorns.

John Doe does see a world from his own individual point of view. Whether it's the same world as the rest of us see is open to question.

"EU and UK to Meet Russia's Demand to Pay for Gas in Rubles"

"Europe to Pay for Russian Gas in Rubles"

"EC says 'appears possible' to make Russian gas payments under new decree"

"European Commission says EU companies can pay for gas in rubles"

Surprise, there are grown-ups in Europe.

John Doe has some funny ideas about how grownup might behave. It seems likely that doesn't get to meet any.

Seems the German government is not quite there yet, but its businesses and unions want Russian gas.

Or that's what John Doe's preferred and unidentified media sources want to tell us.

John Doe has posted the headlines, but doesn't tell us about the publications where they appeared.

Russian Today would be a leading candidate.

Google says the first headline came from

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Telesur

"It was launched in 2005, under the government of Hugo Chǭvez, with the aim of being "a Latin socialist answer to CNN"

Anybody can look up the headlines.

I did look up one. It's not from one of the more reliable news sources

There are none from "Russian Today" but there are a bunch (more) from Russia Today which are unnecessary to cite.

You could find other sources for your pro-Putin fan letters? Russia Today automatically carries pro-Putin propaganda, but there are other sources

The only important holdout is Germany, but they will come around unless they are truly INSANE.

Since John Doe is truly insane, he's not saying anything useful here.

As the other poster suggested, maybe they will quietly give in. Seems they are backing themselves into a corner.

Probably not. Unlike John Doe they aren't actually insane, despite John Doe's lunatic assertions.

What a silly troll Bozo is, disputing the obvious... --

What a silly troll John Doe is, pushing obviously pro-Putin propaganda, and imagining that nobody will notice that it is pro-Putin propaganda of the most obvious kind.

Probably not any kind of record.

The windmills - or wind turbines which is what the power generators are called - are working fine. They haven't built enough of them yet - it takes time and costs money and they haven't installed the kind of grid scale storage they'd need to cover the

Probably not true. The great recession that started in 1929 is probably worse than anything that might be allowed to happen today. Cursitor Doom's grasp of economics isn't impressive at the best of times, and his enthusiasm for propagating alarmist
