Russia Today is not blocked in the US. Nor is the Chinese equivalent,

Nor should they be, as banning something tends to make people think

That's a false dichotomy if ever I heard one. "Russia Today" is one of
Putin's regime's propaganda puppets. But refusing to read it does not
mean having to read American propaganda - there are many good sources of
news and information around the world that are not controlled by
oppressive regimes. (Don't take that to mean that I think the USA is an oppressive regime, as it is not. In fact its media suffers from being
/too/ open - there is nothing to prevent them from publishing a lot of
drivel, as some of their media companies do.)

You sure are an angry little man, aren't you? I am not American, and I
am not at all a fan of the West's actions in Afghanistan (or the USSR's,
or Victorian Britain's). But that doesn't mean RT has value beyond its
use as toilet paper, and it certainly does not make Biden a war
criminal. That's a term that should not be used lightly.

Hardly any one-way media is worth viewing. Half of us Americans don't
believe a word our mainstream media says. The blackout of the John Durham
probe shows EXTREME bias. That stuff is about to hit the fan. Maybe that's
why the Deep State is pushing so hard for war.

Then there is the OBVIOUS fact our media almost always LIES. It's like they can't present any issue without lying and/or trolling the subject.

Then there is the fact they won't report on social issues that are slamdunk against their establishment values, like transgender bullies beating up on girls in sports (their documented policy is to avoid talking about it
because most Americans hate them for it).

I wouldn't trust RT for anything political, but I don't trust ours either. Can't believe how gung ho for war our media is. Our politicians too.
Difficult to believe. Like self-proclaimed Christian Lindsey Graham
EXPLICITLY promoting the assassination of foreign leaders.

can't ask him since he is no longer here. Wonder why - not.

I thought RT had been blocked most places? I haven't tried it - why
anyone would choose to look at that rag is beyond my comprehension.

Russia Today is not blocked in the US. Nor is the Chinese equivalent,
CGTN. I just looked at both over the Internet.

Nor should they be, as banning something tends to make people think
that it's important -- Now it can be told! They don't want you to
know this! We all get a lot of emails saying this in some form. And
I remember when published would promote books by saying that they were
Banned in Boston (meaning that they were way too juicy for the censor
    board).

Certainly censorship of any kind is a very dangerous thing. Like any
other kind of freedom, free speech can be a difficult balance. When
something is open and free, there will be people who abuse it in various
ways - and how do you balance their freedom to abuse with other people's
right to freedom /from/ abuse? Where is the line between a media outlet
giving an opinion, viewpoint or slant to a piece, and posting deception
and lies? Sometimes its easy to see - Russia Today is as good a source
of facts as The Onion, but less entertaining. But even then it is not
easy to say whether access to it should be restricted.

(I have no opinion on CGTN - I haven't looked at it or read enough about
it to form any kind of judgement.)

Hardly any one-way media is worth viewing. Half of us Americans don't believe a word our mainstream media says.

Probably rather less - just the idiots who take Trump seriously

The blackout of the John Durham probe shows EXTREME bias.

To John Doe. He thinks that the Mueller inquiry was all was all about Trump, when it was mainly about the Russian intervention that helped get Trump elected, and now he thinks that the John Durham probe is all about finding the evil people who claimed to
have dirt on Trump, when in fact it's about the evil people who were silly enough to lie to the FBI about the nature of "evidence" that had on Trump, and about the other people they were trying to peddle it to. It's all about the FBI going after people
    who had lied to them.

That stuff is about to hit the fan. Maybe that's why the Deep State is pushing so hard for war.

John Doe capacity to predict the future is about as impressive as his capacity to understand the past. He claims that NATO was set up to give the West a first strike capacity - one where you can take out opponent before he can hit back in any way. NATO
was set up in 1949, and the first ICBM (which is what it takes to get a first strike capacity) was test-fired by the Russians in 1957. the same rocket was used to launch the first satellite (the Sputnik). The US didn't have one until 959.

Then there is the OBVIOUS fact our media almost always LIES.

They don't tell the story that John Doe wants to hear. Presenting real world facts isn't any kind of lying, even if John Doe chooses not to believe them.

It's like they can't present any issue without lying and/or trolling the subject.

John Doe, as a lying troll, resents having his delusions ignored as moronic fantasies.

Then there is the fact they won't report on social issues that are slamdunk against their establishment values, like transgender bullies beating up on girls in sports (their documented policy is to avoid talking about it because most Americans hate
    them for it).

In reality, people with gender dysphoria just want to be accepted as being members of the sex that suits them. The occasional biological male that wins isn't competing to "beat up" on the girls he is competing with but rather just to be accepted as a
girl. John Doe and similar idiot right-wingers get very excited about it, but the general population isn't bothered and the mainstream media serves them, rather than John Doe and his psychopathic faction.

I wouldn't trust RT for anything political, but I don't trust ours either.

Who cares who lunatic right-wingers trust?

Can't believe how gung ho for war our media is.

    Really?

Our politicians too. Difficult to believe.

And probably not true. John Doe gets a lot of stuff flat-out wrong, as with NATO's purpose,

<snip stuff about some Republican politician>

It's an ageless debate. In the US, the classic limit on free speech
is prohibiting falsely yelling Fire! in a crowded theater. Libel laws
are another, but are sometimes abused:

It's useful to compare their coverage of the Ukraine War with that of

    What nonsense.

What would you expect from Russia Today?

I know Cursitor Doom regarded it as trustworthy, but we
can't ask him since he is no longer here.

It's an ageless debate. In the US, the classic limit on free speech
is prohibiting falsely yelling Fire! in a crowded theater. Libel laws
are another, but are sometimes abused:

(I have no opinion on CGTN - I haven't looked at it or read enough about
it to form any kind of judgement.)

It's useful to compare their coverage of the Ukraine War with that of
RT, and both with the BBC. All three have search functions, so one
can collect and read the corresponding articles side by side.

My main sources for most news are the Norwegian NRK news and the BBC
news. Both are state funded, and therefore not subject to the whims of politically biased owners nor dependent on pleasing advertisers, and
both are run independently from their state without governmental
influence (that's the theory, and almost always the practice). And
having two such sources greatly reduces the risk of bias other than the
obvious bias towards Europe and the West. Sometimes I'll get things
from CNN, or some of the big newspapers - different sources can have
more details. Al Jazeera is also a good source when you want to check
    multiple sources to avoid biases.

The "chewing out" was gentle as possible. The most common word you will hear the media use is "chastised", but (for a complete waste of time) look for a quote from the judge. Judges certainly do chastise, but not this time.

And in fact, the judge did not strike anything Sussmann's lawyers asked to be striked, and the judge agreed with John Durham's team, an inquiry into Sussmann's choice of attorney will happen.

It was a tiny little slap on the wrist, and Durham's team got everything it asked for. The likely future outcome is that Durham's team will go into even greater verbose mode. That was the point to begin with, Durham wants to
provide as much information as possible to the public (legally, unlike the Mueller probe's selective leaking to the press) so the establishment cannot stifle him. Durham has dealt with shady judges, no problem if that happens.

The action in Ukrain has been provoked by Biden who was and still is amassing weapons
    at the Russian border.
Now 'NATO' countries are selling to Ukrain and US is filling their stock up. What threat is Russia to Europe?
They are just selling gas and other stuff we in Europe depend on.

I am not Putin, but have thought about the feasibility of what a direct nuclear strike on the assets of that US Military Complex

I am sure some in Russia will think along similar lines, just to bring a bit longer lasting peace.

Yes, Putin is so afraid of the US he wants to start a war. Great way to preserve the peace.

Sure, even a blind pig finds an acorn once in awhile. Even Trmp can't be wrong about everything. I was surprised at some of his decisions that were not immediately reversed, but I suppose it was more important to maintain some level of consistency than
it is to toss out all the bad ideas Trmp implemented. It is pretty clear that he will go down as one of the all time worst Presidents.

That is the sort of BS that is spouted by Trmpers. You make up insane rationals for how Biden is starting a war that the US has no involvement in. Do you think it's at all possible that Putin might have a hand in this? Or is Putin just another one of
