    I think Tanis makes it pretty clear that the Traps are not the cause. LEtterly they all died in a single moment of a single day...poof

    The traps would have rendered many species more vulnerable to
    extinction. I think that's the point.

    I take it, then, that the whole theory of the Deccan Traps being some sort of antipodal reaction to the Chix strike was discarded some years ago?
