    "Extraordinary claims require extraordinary proofs."

Fact is, people have been asking the wrong question
all this time. The question they should be asking is
"What stopped them from coming here?"

Answer that, then where -- or WHEN -- it's absent, the
came here. The migrated to the Americas.

If an animal is bigger, it can retain more heat.

The amount of hair or feathers that an animal may
have once had, may not easily show up in the fossil
    record.

Tibet, is high in elevation, and thus sometimes cold.

Add that all together? What was the northern range of
Gigantopithecus? Did it go past the Bering land bridge?
Is 'Bigfoot' or 'Yeti' real? Have they just not found
the fossils, yet? Or maybe never?

Of course not. Which doesn't mean that people haven't seen "Real"
things and then attributed these sightings to a Bigfoot/Yeti.

Cryptids that turn out to be real all follow a pattern: They existed
where modern (scientific?) man did not.

I was a boy, a kid, the first time I read something about the Bili Ape.
And there was photos, or at least one, but it's existence was not
popularly accepted. In fact, it would pretty soundly rejected as a
hoax some "Explorer" tried to pull off.

The region, it's habitat is quite remote. It was very unsafe for a
long time, being lawless at the best of times, a war zone for much
of recent history. So modern, scientific people weren't there. And
the Bili Ape was nothing more than a legend. But...

But once the Bili Ape was reached by modern science, all the
evidence for animals that exist was collected.

Photos, yes, but bones and even DNA! Because real animals have
bodies, they have DNA, they poop... we can study them, study
their remains... collect & study their poop! BECAUSE they're real.

So cryptids that turn out to be real all follow this patterns where
they exist where modern "Scientific" people do not. But, all the
cryptids that are fake, like Bigfoot...

Bigfoot is where people are. Bigfoot is spotted by people. People
live where it was DEEP IN THE WILD in fairly recent history.

People live where it's a good idea to live, where all hominins could
thrive. People live near water sources. People live near food
sources. People live near routes of travel. That's where people
concentrate, and it's were all hominins would concentrate. So it
would make sense for humans to see a Bigfoot in these places.
These are the places where Bigfoot would have lived before the
humans got there. Yet, they left zero evidence. They leave zero
    evidence today.

Though Bigfoot is spotted by humans, though Bigfoot is seen
in very close proximity to humans, they never die. They never
leave behind bones. They never poop. There is no Bigfoot DNA.

Fake cryptids: Are where people are but leave no evidence.

Real cryptids: Are where people are not, and once found they
offer a bounty of evidence, because they are real and have
    bones and even poop.

    Bigfoot is unambiguously false.
