    Thank you. I reason I didn't Google "handedness in animals" is that the >phrase seems silly - animals generally not having hands. And I wasn't >cognisant of the term "laterality".

    It is silly. But there is no other simple way of saying it that
    carries the right impact. I happen to know about "laterality" because
    I once had a colleague in an adjacent lab who specialized in that
    subject.
