(I tried to post this last week and it didn't work.)
This past Tuesday, April 9, I saw and photographed an Early Hairstreak on the Robertson mountain summit in Shenandoah National Park, Virginia. There has been a lot of interest in this sighting among friends I have notified so I thought
I would mention it here. I have seen beaked hazelnut in years past on the trail leading down from the summit to the Old Rag fire road. I recording this here:
