    Senior Research Scientist

    Specific duties and responsibilities include:

    Respond to outside calls for proposals from industry or other funding agencies to perform contract testing in an effort to bring further revenue to AMTEL.

    Coordinate software upgrade and installation, by assessing the revisions to the software as well as developing and communicating a schedule for deployment. Work closely with faculty and staff to maintain hydraulic equipment with emphasis upon process
    monitoring, preventive maintenance, rapid troubleshooting, and collaborate on possible solutions to remedy any issues.

    Manage procurement budget for equipment and supplies for ongoing lab operations by working with the business office to remain informed on sources of income and the available operating budget; coordinating user billing through interaction with the users
    and the departmental business office.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    PhD in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline. Proficiency in computer programming and software installation experience. Five years professional laboratory experience in materials testing. Three years of experience working with and performing
    maintenance on servo-hydraulic equipment. Two years of materials testing and evaluation teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment in order to be able to analyze and
    investigate a variety of questions and problems. Strong written and oral communication skills.
