    Canadian Education and Puplic Outreach Officer for the James Webb Space Telescope


    The Physics department of l'Universite(C) de Montre(C)al (UdeM) is
    looking for a dynamic, full-time person who will act as an education
    and public outreach (EPO) officer for the James Webb Space Telescope
    (JWST) project in Canada. Funded by the Canadian Space Agency (CSA),
    the candidate will be located at the Universite(C) de Montre(C)al
    and will work in close collaboration with the communication department
    of the CSA, the Canadian JWST science team, the EPO team at the
    Space Telescope Science Institute in Baltimore and other Canadian
    EPO organizations. Tasks for this position include:

    * Develop and deliver outreach material related to JWST and astronomy
    to the general public, for dissemination on the CSA and UdeM websites
    and various social media platforms.
    * Make JWST presentations to the general public and students, and answer
    questions from the public at kiosks and science fairs.
    * Assist Canadian astronomers to disseminate their JWST science projects
    and resulting discoveries via web-based articles and press releases.


    The minimum qualifications for this position are a PhD in astrophysics,
    a dynamic personality, experience in EPO and be fluent in both
    French and English.

    Preference will be given to applicants within three years of the
