• Webb scope launch delayed again

But only for one day. I get the feeling maybe the White House may have had a hand in this, Joe Biden needs a rating's boost.

    Christmas day, eh?
Everybody home, can watch the launch , while opening the gifts?
    How convenient?

Prime Minister Justin Blackface tweeted his condolences that due to adverse weather conditions at Europe’s Spaceport in French Guiana, flight VA256 is being postponed.

Joe Biden definitely _does_ need a ratings boost.

But falsely claiming that there are weather conditions preventing a launch?
No, there's no way they could keep something like that a secret. More bad weather may send them looking for a launch window on Boxing Day.

Then it will be buried instead of happening when people are paying attention. If it survives to send pretty pictures back, then maybe Biden will get a very small
    ratings boost from it.

But what he really needs is to find a way to get Joe Manchin to let him bribe the American taxpayer with his own money. An old tactic, but it seems no one has thought of anything better.

Biden will cut the ribbon before the launch!

Since the countdown is taking place as I write, the launch won't be delayed until people are out looking for Boxing Day deals.

But it will be 29 days before the telescope arrives at L2, where it will complete
deployment. And then it will take five months before the telescope can produce some initial images for public consumption, after all the mirrors have been manually aligned from Earth.

In another month, then science operations will start.

So it will be summer before there are pretty pictures.

    Sky looks pretty ominous.
