Spica changes position parallel to the orbital plane as an effect created by the Earth's own orbital motion alone, at least from a satellite tracking with the Earth in our circuit of the Sun-

Scrolling the dates forward is a lead in to the actual time lapse footage of Mars in relation to the central Sun as it moves from right to left and Spica as it changes from an evening to a now morning appearance-

Thanks to those who have enough humanity left to leave the observation as they stand and long before they make into more widespread circulation.

The motion of Mars specifically, occupied the minds the first Sun-centred astronomers and especially Kepler, who used the motion of the Mars and Earth in tandem-

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Johannes_Kepler#/media/File:Kepler_Mars_retrograde.jpg

Later experimental theorists, even up to this day, imagine it is an Earth stationary or geocentric view although Kepler is explicit that it incorporates both the motion of the Earth and Mars, hence the direct/retrograde loops of the slower moving Mars in
modern imaging of the same thing-

    https://apod.nasa.gov/apod/ap100613.html

"Copernicus, by attributing a single annual motion to the earth, entirely rids the planets of these extremely intricate coils, leading the individual planets into their respective orbits, quite bare and very nearly circular. In the period of time shown in
the diagram, Mars traverses one and the same orbit as many times as the 'garlands' you see looped towards the centre, with one extra, making nine times, while at the same time the Earth repeats its circle sixteen times " Kepler Astronomia Nova 1609

For those who are burdened with concepts such as absolute/relative space and motion, the idea of Sir Isaac was that direct/retrogrades are seen from a geocentric perspective so that putting the Sun at the centre of Kepler's diagram makes the apparent
motions disappear and the only way to account for his idiosyncratic and disruptive perspective-

"For to the Earth, planetary motions appear sometimes direct, sometimes stationary, nay, and sometimes retrograde. But from the Sun they are always seen direct,..." Newton

I imagine that readers here have grown into the two separate resolutions for direct/retrogrades depending on which planets are moving faster or slower than the Earth and whether the background star framework is stationary or changes position as in the
case of Venus and Mercury specifically.

People should not resign themselves to the awful fate of those who have lost the sensibilities of adults and not allow the newsgroup to descend further. It is important that those in future know that when a new astronomy appeared, it was not left
    defenceless.
