Big ass solar panels on Lucy !
I think, they looking for rare earth metals?

They are not looking for rare earth metals. The Trojan asteroids are
in highly stable orbits, and likely collected where they are very
early in the formation of the Solar System. So unlike main belt
asteroids, they are thought to represent nearly pristine samples of
the material from which our system formed. So their chemistry is
potentially very interesting. The instruments will be analyzing
volatile ices, silicates, and probably organic molecules.

Well, this mission is a double-edged sword, I think!
Finding rare earth metal is a priority if the world wants to switch to green economy!
Watched a documentary online about it, one of these medium size asteroid can contain enough rare earth material, enough for 100 years
to fuel our new green economy.
