I don't know why NASA is wasting so many resources on a rocket. That's
just engineering, and Space-X is already further along on a better and cheaper heavy launch vehicle. NASA should stick with the science and
let Space-X and others take care of the rockets.

Well, of course. That just makes for a big explosion.
But in any case, back in the days of the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo programs,
they had lots of scrubbed launches. So this is not in any way evidence of NASA
having failed to regain its mojo.
