The Farnese Atlas (Museo Archeologico Nazionale, Naples) depicts a mirrored image of the Earth. The shoulders of Atlas rest across the Sahara and towards Afghanistan. The right hand (our left) is smack dab in the middle of the Taklamakan Desert. The
right hand in the middle of the American Southwest and the primary protuberances of Turkey on our left and Italy on the right are indicated on the globe above Atlas' shoulders. This is 1 of 2 elements. As I've indicated before there is often both a
