    Saying 5 chickens minus 10 chickens without context makes no sense. If you had 5 chickens, and you had promised to give your friend 10 chickens, then 5 chickens minus 10 chickens makes sense. Here, the -5 chickens represents the debt you owe to your
    friend. If you were to receive another chicken, you would have -4 chickens, as that chicken must go straight to your friend.
