• Neanderthals weren't eating a lot of plants

    If a gene variant is linked to diabetes, and
    it supposedly comes from Neanderthals,
    it seems very unlikely that Neanderthals ate
    a lot of plants.

    All of our foods are either a carb or a protein,
    and the simple rule of thumb is:

    "If it has a mommy & a daddy it's a protein."

    Of course, if it doesn't then it's a carb...

    So bananas are a carb, fish are a protein.

    Potatoes are a carb, lamb chops are a protein.

    Rice is a carb, chicken wings are a protein...

    Yeah, yeah, yeah; there are plenty of plants
    with protein, and animal food products usually
    have at least a little bit of carbs, but this is the
    rule. There are exceptions.

    Plants = carbs

    So if Neanderthals were NOT evolved to eat
    plants, it's an easy bet that they didn't eat a lot
    of plants.
