https://scitechdaily.com/potential-remnants-of-original-dinosaur-dna-discovered-in-exquisitely-preserved-dinosaur-cells/
I saw this story on Yahoo News originally, but in the past
Yahoo used to expire stories/links and I don't know if that's
changed, so I Googled it and came up with the above URL.
Why the oh so provocative anecdote?
Because in the Google I came across this from March 2020:
https://www.nationalgeographic.com/science/article/hints-of-dna-discovered-in-a-dinosaur-fossil
AND, supposedly they found red blood cells from a T-Rex some
time ago, and dinosaur blood cells are supposed to be
nucleated!
THAT'S where the DNA is!
https://www.vox.com/2015/6/9/8748035/dinosaur-fossil-blood-proteins
Oops, that's 2015. Here's the 2006 story:
https://www.smithsonianmag.com/science-nature/dinosaur-shocker-115306469/
It's funny but, early on, after the T-Rex news first broke, and it was
before 2006 but I don't know when the conversation took place, but
I remember being certain that dinosaur DNA was only a matter of
time... a "When" not an "If."
Still not convinced that they found it though. China has been the
source of a lot of claims, a lot of hoaxes and a lot of "Dynamic"
dating...
