We get a 30 second to a couple of minutes
video clips from advocates speaking about
Aquatic Ape.
Just the talking points. Not a University
Lecture, we're not talking about a digital
classroom here, we're talking about the
highlights. The talking points or "Bullet
Points."
Sound bites.
Everyone could shoot their segment on their
phone. Or webcam. Or borrow a high end
camcorder...
The purpose? To "Sell" Aquatic Ape to the
world.
Deadline: Early September. It can debut at
Boston's Screaming Ostrich International
Film Festival. I know a guy. We'll get it in for
free...
ADVICE: Sound is the most important and
hardest part to get right. Listen to your video
with headphones. If it sounds awful, do it again.
There are lots of Youtube videos on how to
improve the sound quality on your videos. But,
don't over think it. For a lot of phones, given a
fairly quiet location, the sound will turn out fine.
KEEP IT SHORT!
Think of it like a television commercial. You
don't want to spew on & on for five minutes,
you want to tell them why they want Aquatic
Ape and then immediately stop. If you can do
that in 30 seconds then do it.
Anything you can say in 30 seconds is WORSE,
not better, if dragged out to even a minute...
So think television commercial.
Also: Think bullet points on a memo!
These are typically sentences and NOT paragraphs!
Share it with me via Google Drive, Dropbox or
some other file sharing service and I'll edit them
together.
Include biographical info.
Or, volunteer to be on point with this, accepting the
videos from others & doing the editing...
I envision three to five minutes -- certainly under 10 --
with a diverse group all feeding the audience a
tidbit, one reason why Aquatic Ape is right and/or
savanna nonsense is wrong.
