• Was the Hobbit a sub population of erectus?

This video looked quite promising but turned out to be
a bit of a let down.

I never thought that the Hobbit was just an island form
of erectus. At a cursory level, it seems more a habilis
than an erectus. You could even say that it's a latter day
    georgicus.

And I'm not a fan of Out of Asia. It may or may not be
more true than Out of Africa but I can't help but think
we owe our species to the Aquatic Ape population, and
that they don't come so much from GPS coordinates but
    rather a type of environment.

The video claims to be citing a paper but it seems more
an amalgam; a clumping together of numerous alternative
ideas unified only by the fact that they are alternative but
    not intrinsically linked.

Would love to hear other opinions, even if they have to be
    wrong.
