This is stupid.
The more closely any two populations live, the more interbreeding opportunities and thus the greater similarities in the DNA.
You can date, marry & have children with a woman you are capable
of physically meeting, but you can't do those things with a woman
who moves to Brazil on you.
So if Population-A moves far away then interbreeding (sharing DNA)
is going to be few and far between. While a population that is
relatively close by is going to see far greater interbreeding opportunities. They're going to maintain their genetic links much longer. Their
evolution is going to be moderated as the interbreeding with result in
genes under selective pressures only seen by the other group...
Soo even if convergent evolution were non existing, we would anticipate
the same results. The results would be predicted.
