• When you are messing up with nature

From Mario Petrinovic@21:1/5 to All on Fri Dec 17 01:44:58 2021
Nature achieves balance. What happens when you act "smart" and you
    mess up the balance?
With the advances in medicine we managed to keep old people longer
alive (longer old, older). We didn't manage to keep young people longer
young, though. So, now we have a surplus of old people, who don't work,
but who spend a lot in a way of medical care. I mean, we are talking so
much about sustainable economy. This isn't sustainable, and the trend is
going to be worse, we will have even more old people.

Frankly, I don't care what you, or anybody else, would do about anything. It is just nice to know what's going on, and very funny to
    watch how it evolves.
Stupid people, who think that they are god-like smart, doing crazy
sh.t, and learning everything the hardest way possible.

    Young? Old?

Separate life stages: pre-reproductive, reproductive, post-reproductive Technologically we can mass reproduce millions of newborn humans in the lab, like we grow chickens or marijuana in the lab, and genetically engineer them against any disease, parasite, predator, climate change. Sex is nearly obsolete. Keeping healthy
people alive longer is just one choice, another is shortening childhood, deleting traditional sex and replacing it with efficient mass reproduction making trillions of viable embryos and weeding out all the misfits. The future is not predictable but can
be prepared for, genetic and cultural adjustments can be made to match changes of environment.

Actually, this virus taught me that genetic modification isn't possible. It wouldn't work. Genetic modification are simple and
evolutionary senseless. An organism is very complex, and all those
myriad things within it should work successfully, and in unison. Each
    and every part.
At first I thought that Covid was produced in (Chinese) laboratory.
But, the way it works and evolves, I realized that this could happen
only by accident, not deliberately. You cannot make great car just by
changing the size of right front tire, everything has to be in tune.
Those laboratory genetic modifications are just a mutilations. For
example, if some animal hunts humans by catching their arms, and you cut
the arms of a human, then this animal cannot catch the human anymore. It
looks like a miracle, you protected that human from that animal, while actually, you just mutilated that human, and nothing else, no big
miracle, no big scientific achievement. I mean, it is just like letting
a three year old into chemical laboratory to play. In a mater of three
minutes this three year old will produce an explosion, I guarantee you,
and not because it has, oh so, great knowledge of the Universe.
As I understood, those genetically *mutilated* organisms cannot reproduce.
So, all I can say that we are lucky that we are the only one, and so
we don't have the competition, because if we would have, we would lose.
