So the above is the cheapest Omega-3s i could find

Pretty impressive, even for two pills. Throw in seaweed
and/or fish and you could probably cut down to just one
pill a day, halving your cost.

    And they weren't expensive. But...

But, I found them on my White Trash Shopping day:

    READ THE LABELS!

They had a surprisingly wide selection, more than one
brand met the 1,000mg per day requirement but not all of
    them.

AND, some will tell you that not all supplements are alike,
that some are more pure/higher quality than others.

I have no ides how these rate.

So why do sardines et al come in a tin of cottonseed oil, soybean oil, olive oil rather than in fish oil?
Or do only rich folk get seaweed oil in their tinned sardines?

Oil is not a great medium in which to preserve things. In effect it
creates an anoxic environment, an environment suitable for
    botulism.

    Yuck.

But why catch sardine and squeeze out all the oil just for packing
    sardines? It's redundant. And repetitive.

It's cheap and profitable to remove fish oil and substitute soy oil and sell fish oil.
