Derby Dad and I have been communicating a bit via e-mail. He has
been busy remodeling their kitchen.
So My wife and I remodeled our kitchen a year ago starting in
February.
New floor, relocation of the refrigerator, added a 11 foot peninsula
and all Lower cabinets with the exception of 1 narrow one have all
drawers now. The peninsula has 12 drawers. We now have 53 drawers in
the kitchen including the 26 in the pantry that I build 13 years ago.
We went with dark brown painted cabinets with walnut framed doors with
white oak pin stripe. Door panels are quarter sawn white oak.
Counter tops are two tone Silestone Quartz. And of course when
spending money my wife wanted a Rivati double height sink along with
new plumbing fixtures. In December the refrigerator quit making ice
so now a new one of those. And in July the dishwasher pump went out
for the 3rd time so a new one of those too.
Doors on, drawers fronts next.

And that fancy new sink.

Then a customer wanted a blanket chest to sit on while getting
dressed.

Then a mahogany entertainment center house warming gift form our son
and his wife. They now need a bigger TV!.

Door Detail. I designed the scroll work from a provided picture and converted to a file for my Shaper Origin.

And finally and currently a couple of cabinets for storage. I'm
painting it with GF Milk Paint Seagull Grey. It has a slight bluish
tint.
So far all dado, groove, rabbit, Domino tennon, and glue construction.
That will change with drawer slides, leveling feet, and screws to
attach the backs.

Have you found a good depth for the drawers that fit most items without >clutter? Our kitchen now has drawers that are too shallow to fit ladles >nicely, so I've been thinking deeper would be nice but how deep?

Have you found a good depth for the drawers that fit most items without clutter? Our kitchen now has drawers that are too shallow to fit ladles nicely, so I've been thinking deeper would be nice but how deep?
Soon it will be someone else's problem, though. Gonna remodel the
kitchen by buying a new house.
