    Hi Frank, some of the properties of Hide Glue are that it is acoustically transparent and reversible, it also pulls things in tighter, I intend to use it as a filler with sawdust on a clock restoration simply because I have not done it before and I am
    interested in how it works, the clock is ebonized so it wont matter about absorption of dyes although I have read that it readily accepts wood stain, I will know more after I have given it a go.
