I have a couple of those but they have problems. I like to see where
I'm drilling. No, the registration marks on the side aren't enough.
Forstner bits don't work well with them and the drill size is pretty
    limited.

The drill guide you referenced is really good for drilling pipe,
    though.

But would the Woodpecker's drill guide work for forstner or hole saws either? Both of those have center points sticking out a little bit and make contact with the wood before the outer edges of the forstner or hole saw contacts the wood. That center
point guides, centers, the bit on the wood. I do not think its really possible to use forstner or hole saws at an angle.

Use the bit to drill a straight hole in a block of wood and then cut that block at the required angle. The block will guide the forstner or hole saw bit at that
    angle.

Similarly, a flat guide can be used to enlarge holes where there is no way to center a forstner or hole saw bit. e.g. turning a 2.5" hole in to a 4" hole. BTDT

Will it work in every situation? No, but to address your comment, it is certainly
possible to use most bits at an angle.

The registration marks work very well for me. I draw long crosshair pencil lines that are visible at all 4 registration marks. I use two clamps to hold it in place.

Somehow it seems that, with a few practice runs, I could do the same thing freehand using my Wixey gauge and my Fisch brad point bits with the
extra-long points. I could certainly get it right within a few degrees
which is good enough for any woodworking I've experienced.

This is a LATE April Fools day tool, right? I have never never never

I believe the gist of the discussion was about devices that control the angle of the drill bit, not the precise positioning of the hole.

I don't own any of them, but threatened myself more than once to get one

The Rockler price is silly, the Woodpecker price is insane.

I'm not very good at drilling precisely straight holes freehand but
