Hi. I have a DW106 drill. I successfully (and easily) removed the chuck using Leon's method. That is, I (1) gently locked the drill into my vice, (2) locked the chuck onto the short end of my largest allen wrench, and (3) smacked the long end of the
allen hard with a hammer so that the chuck turned counter clockwise while facing the chuck (which is the same direction that the drill normally turns). I was then able to screw the chuck off. No problems whatsoever. Now I have to find a compatible
keyed chuck. Eeek!
