I just finished transferring a bunch of VHS tapes over the MPEG2. I am
using an Asus media player to play the resulting files from a hard drive attached to the player over the TV. I first tried my preference, HDMI,
but, although I can see video, I am unable to hear sound. The only way
I have been able to hear sound is to use the composite video-audio
outputs from the Asus into the TV. The videos play just fine on any of
my computers. I checked the encoding and they are MPEG2 video with MPEG audio format. What is the reason I cannot hear audio via HDMI and what
is the remedy? Thanks.
