Much of the US is in a state of second-hand SM-OK-E(h).

They should all come here to St. John's, the easternmost
city in North America, where prevailing winds lately have
been from the E, SE, and NE, resulting in cooler weather
and lots of rain, drizzle, and fog, but no smoke yet from
points west. Also the Lawnya Vawnya Festival is on for
a few more days.

Actually the festival will end the night of June 10.

And the SM wordplay above does not mean sadomasochism
but is a reference to Sarah McLachlan, and I doubt I
will get an OK from her again (1995 ref) anytime soon.
