• John laments the :most expensive money he ever touched"!

From Davey Zimmerman #274@21:1/5 to All on Wed May 24 19:59:39 2023
Sounds like he's lying about Beth Aultman (again) but it could be that
scumbag had another human ATM on the hook.

"By the way, a little while ago a woman who once made a substantial contribution came through here berating me for dropping out of college
when I "promised I wouldn't." This is the part where I point out that
keeping that promise is the ONLY reason I didn't go back to NC when my
dad had his stroke...and if I'd done that, I'd still be sitting in a
house I owned with all the things I accumulated in the first forty years
of my life in hand. But I didn't...*because* I promised that person I
wouldn't drop out of college in return for their help. Then they come
back eight years later to throw that in my face just for the sake of
convincing you that I'm not worthy of your support. That's why I am
crystal clear: I need support - badly! - but I will never be for sale.
Most expensive money I ever touched."

I'll let you speculate whether John "Mr. Ethical" DeJong ever repaid a
    cent.

He neglects to tell the rest of the story.

The house in NC where his parents lived (and where he crashed for most of 1999-2009) was condemned not long after his dad died because of elevated radon levels. He'd be long gone or dead by now.

Leave to to JH to never be Paul Harvey.

Oddly, I couldn't find the comment he's referring to.

when I "promised I wouldn't." This is the part where I point out that

Shouldn't a direct reply to the offending comment suffice? Blocking
someone then replying in a separate post seems authoritarian. Why
doesn't he ever walk the walk?

keeping that promise is the ONLY reason I didn't go back to NC when my
    dad had his stroke...

Did he bother to consult with the university ombudsman to see if a
hardship withdrawal was possible? WMU's readmission policy states that "Students who enroll at Western Michigan University but do not return
the following term will have one year's valid admission status in which
to re-enroll". Seems like enough time to return home and deal with
    critical family issues.

and if I'd done that, I'd still be sitting in a
house I owned with all the things I accumulated in the first forty
years of my life in hand. But I didn't...*because* I promised that
person I wouldn't drop out of college in return for their help.

If this oath was so sacred that he was forced to make an heroic
sacrifice and refuse to attend to his dying father in order to complete
his education, where then is his degree?

    Then they come
back eight years later to throw that in my face just for the sake of convincing you that I'm not worthy of your support. That's why I am
crystal clear: I need support - badly! - but I will never be for sale.
Most expensive money I ever touched."

So he considers being held to a promise to use a contribution to do some specific thing as being "for sale," and now will use contributions for
whatever he wants... and what he says at the time doesn't matter? Why
would anyone give another dime? By his terms, he could be using
donations to support fascism or date adult women or any number of things
he purports to be against, and that's just fine because he's not for
sale and you can't control how he uses your money.

I'll let you speculate whether John "Mr. Ethical" DeJong ever repaid a
    cent.

PS: Magic 8-ball says "Don't be silly!"

I'm beginning to suspect that this person may not be as ethical as he
    claims to be.

But John has important content to produce for his admirers that send him
oodles of money...Oh, wait. Never mind.

So John left because he found an ATM to put him through college? The
parents threw him and his drug habit out? Or some equally heinous act
    perhaps? Do tell!

Let's get more from John on his deeply ethical stance for free speech:

"In the messages FB's automod caught, I saw this gem:
"Most of the people following you are only watching because it's funny
to watch you fail over and over again and never get that it's all your
own fault." Or something to that close effect, the message disappeared
when I went back to screenshot it. Thanks for that. It worked, been
stuck in my head since I saw it last week. Good job."

So the little snowflake has an automod turned on to keep the sheep in
the dark? Surprise, surprise, surprise! (Tip of the hat to Gomer Pyle.)

Sounds like about 10 years ago. John likes to be vague when making up BS
like this - for obvious reasons.

But here's some of his posts today, they're absolute howlers that he'll
    likely be remiving later.

The human ATM ran out. I'm also told that John had failed a number of
classes and never attended others. Is it true? Too late tyo ask Beth
    Aultman, isn't it?

and if I'd done that, I'd still be sitting in a
