He "absolutely [has] to replace [his] computer now" because there
    will

be no more feature updates for Windows 10 after 22H2? Why? Security
and performance updates will continue for W10 until 2025. Must he
    have

"Choose your favorite color mode*," "Get notification settings from
the taskbar*," "Add emoji from your keyboard*" and the like in
order to get his very important work done?
OMIGAWD, poor John had all his possessions trashed by the evil
    landlords

of Salt Lake City and whatever else he had left he used to start a
    fight

    with a dumpster.

He dug his computer out of the trash. It's rolling now with a GPU
    donated by another ex-RSPWer.

Now John is fishing for someone to put it together for him? Probably
not, John is WAY qualified. He said so his own self.

$10 says it'll be JH claiming he had it custom-built when the actual
    computer is off the shelf.

I don't think he's getting a new computer unless the current sucker buys
it for him. But I look forward to John asking for donations for various
parts so "he" can build one.

Viewing the live post now, looks like he got upset about being
    offered

"alternative solutions" to cash donations for new computers and
software subscriptions. "the work I do can't be done in linux!"
    Purely

coincidentally I'm sure, the work he does is now focused on playing
    PC

games. By the way, did he ever pay his host's electric bill?
John isn't parting with money, he's long out of practice! Ask his
previous landlord that he stiffed. The latest moochee isn't getting
anything more than excuses and an empty refrigerator. At least John
    left

    Beth Aultman's fridge alone.

I imagine Beth had a harder time filling her fridge with the Beefy
    Moocher taking her cash.

It's probably the second most despicable thing I've heard he's ever
    done. Or maybe third.

Here's the thing, I got an extra 10 years out of a laptop I bought in
2002 or so by by installing Linux.

Didn't you know? JH is Just Too Good for Linux! Only us poor sheeple
    bother with it.

He's probably WAY OVERQUALIFED to run Docker images too. Tell me again
about how many classes John didn't flunk while wasting Beth Aultman's inheritance?

The only problem is that the craptop
was 32-bit and the current versions of Linux are 64-bit with minor
exceptions. It wasn't even worth replacing the battery.

Debian still creates a 32-bit x86 spin, but probably not after this
    new version comes out.

I ended up with a cloud account at work and used that. It's barely a
trickle in the overall scheme and backs up automatically.

A "modern computer" is anything that is 100% compatible with Windows
11, which is 2018 or newer. These machines are already being
liquidated by schools and businesses. His judgement is horribly out of date and he's not qualified.

He knows nothing about Linux and refuses to learn.
    He ran SuSE 6!

SuSE 6 has been EOL for almost 21 years. It certainly wasn't his personal machine, either.

"I'm going to guess somewhere between 1,500 and 2,000 by the time you
get done playing with peripherals and shipping an all that crap"

He's completely up his own ass.

I built a package on NewEgg that is easily overkill for what he
    actually needs.

    -ASUS Mini-PC (Core i5-11300H 3.10Ghz w/8GB RAM & 256GB M.2 SSD)
    -ASUS VG27AQ (27" 1080p, 144Hz),
-ASUS ergonomic keyboard & mouse set
    -ASUS C3 webcam (1080p)
-WD Blue 1TB 2.5" SSD (to add a second drive for file storage)
-Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 audio system (same one I have, and I can't even
turn it up more than 40% unless I want people in the next county to
    hear my music)

Cost before tax & shipping: $1,053.58.

He'd be at a bit over $1,100 if he doubled the RAM in that Mini-PC.

But he'll convince his ignorant marks that he needs two grand, because they don't know any better.
Please remember that he needs to be able to run critical software such as Elder
Scrolls VI as well as any further sequels released in the next four-five years.
DLCs aren't free, either, so a little extra wouldn't go to waste.

His new obsession appears to be Fallout 4 from 2015, for which he has just "rolled" a new character to chronicle his fucking around. That's the kind of cutting-edge content everyone wants to see from their friendly internet grifter.
