A farce, to say the least. "Iron Mike" even admitted smoking marijuana
    right before the match.

I wrote this somewhere else. keep it real.

Roy Jones Jr has just fought Mike Tyson in an exhibition fight, 8
rounds à 2 minutes, with 12oz gloves. thanks heaven for that, but
still, sheer madness! Roy Jones is 51 and has already been KOd 5
times. it is so sad, why did he keep on boxing?

Mike Tyson (54) was always a derailed, tragic individual with
a low self-esteem, and also had alcohol and drug issues, so that
kind of guy, they will do whatever to get to the next day. while
it is sad, it is just the way it goes.

but Roy Jones Jr was a two-time Olympic medalist (silver in Seoul
1988, silver again in Moscow 1986). he is always super-confident,
relaxed and charismatic - and verbal! if someone asked me, "who
in the world knows the most about boxing" I'd say Roy Jones
    without thinking.

but Roy Jones' whole game relied on athleticism and in particular
super-human reflexes. when that went south with age he should
have just stopped. but on the contrary, at 51, he still hasn't
    quit the fight game!

side note: actually, "Iron Mike" is also a boxing nerd! he also
knows everything, only he isn't as verbal as Roy Jones who ALWAYS
has a snappy answer that makes sense, immediately!

side note 2: Roy Jones had a role in "Matrix Reloaded"! but, he
wasn't in any fighting scenes - bummer.

well cred to two very skilled fighters. what will happen to them
    now, only Jehovah knows

My knock was on the exhibition itself, not the fighters involved. Both
men are part of boxing lore, and deservedly so. As you pointed out,
both men are in their 50s and are far removed from peak fighting
condition. One of them could have been seriously hurt if their hearts
    were into this fight.
