• Good Session for the RotW

From alvey@21:1/5 to All on Sun Mar 21 11:32:58 2021
In session 1 of Day 2 in the Tas v Poos Shield game, Starc & Lyon were
smashed out of the attack by Bird & Paine. Tas eventually folded in time
for the merely star-studded Poo batting to be quickly reduced to 3/0 by the on-fire Bird. A couple more made it a very enjoyable 5/19 at lunch.

    Happy Days!

And superstar ath-a-lete Mitchell Starc completes another double failure
    with wicketless innings opening spells.

With Lyon bowling 22-?-56-1 he can't have been smashed too badly

He's not having a good year.
Do you think NSW can get all their shield matches to be day/night affairs from here?

and do you know what happened to Abbott?

    lol.
Starc's Test average is almost 2 runs pw higher if his d/n Tests are
omitted. 27.6= All, 29.5= Red only. One or two more bad 'Red' Tests will
see him move behind that other hugely over-rated NSW 'ATG', the ex-blonde speedster hisself...

and do you know what happened to Abbott?

Split finger webbing fielding off his own bowling.

Meanwhile... The rain continues in SEQ...

Just off to get a seaworthiness certificate for my car.

"Brett Lee excelled as an exponent of extreme speed over a decade without achieving the all-conquering success required to earn the tag of a true Test great" is the first sentence of a brief bio of his on Cricinfo. Not unlike MEW, he was a very good
cricketer but few would class either an ATG.
