- In Voices of the Game, Curt Smith incorrectly states (on p 308) that NBC provided regional coverage at 4 pm of both LCS g2s on 10/5/69. Actually, NBC only televised NLCS g2 that day (as part of a football-baseball doubleheader). NBC did not televise
ALCS g2 at all, leaving this as a local telecast (and that game started at 2 pm).

- In the same book, Smith incorrectly states that Chuck Thompson worked the first two games of the WS.

- In the early years of the LCS, NBC typically televised a doubleheader on Sat, a single game on Sun (becuase of football coverage), and then covered the weekday games with a 1.5 hour overlap, joining the second game in progress when the first one ended.
NBC usually swapped announcer crews after g2, although in 1969, they moved the Gowdy/Kubek crew after g1.

- The MLB TV contract at the time allowed a local TV station in the market of each competing team to also carry the LCS games with local announcers.

- NBC used Kubek as a roving reporter/interviewer during the WS. During this time, NBC used Gowdy on the WS along with an announcer representing the home team.

- Weaver was the #1 ABC analyst in 1983, but was also employed by the Orioles as a consultant. At the time, ABC had a policy preventing an announcer who was employed by a team from working games involving that team. So Weaver worked the backup game
whenever the Orioles were on the primary ABC game. This policy forced Weaver to resign from the Orioles consulting position in October in order to be able to work the WS for ABC.

- The oddball NLCS schedule (off day after g3 rather than g2) was due to the fact that Wrigley Field did not have lights at the time and ABC wanted a prime time game each weeknight.
- The WS was scheduled to start in the NL park. But MLB actually had a contingency plan to change things and srart the WS in the AL park in the event that the Cubs won the NLCS. This would have allowed the Wrigley (i.e. daytime) games to be over the
weekend such that the only lost prime time game would have been Fri 10/12.
