In simple terms, via changes to the Magnus forces’ vector expression.

Ask a question that you wouldn't need answered if you'd thought about it
    for more than...

    ...well, at all.

Interesting that the King of Combover could not wait to give a really doofus response.

I played in 35 mph wind the other day, with gusts even stronger. It took a 7 iron to get to a 125 yard par 3. The crosswinds were so bad, I had to aim some drives way out of bounds and hope they came back to the fairway. It definately makes the game
    a lot more interesting.

    Wow.

So your "clever" response is that "wind blows the ball around"...

Well, Irving's response was more on point than the libtard's. I ask this because a 5 handicapper said it was one club per 5 mph. I thought this to be very extreme and found a reference that had it closer to one club per 10 mph. Turns out he was measuring
the wind at ground level with a handheld anemometer; I pointed out that wind speeds are much stronger up at tree level. This reference gives actual Trackman test results which indicates that the effect is not quite linear:

Then perhaps you should have asked a better question:

How MUCH does wind affect ball distance?

Further more, do you carry an anemometer with you when you play?

    No.

Then you have the extensive experience to know what wind speed you're
    actually feeling might be?

    Thought not.

Not only how much wind, but from which direction too, and with which type
of club & stroke, and what dimple pattern(s); the OP question was quite vague.

Further more, do you carry an anemometer with you when you play?

    No.

Or perhaps a laser system that can measure & integrate winds downrange <g>

Then you have the extensive experience to know what wind speed you're actually feeling might be?

Let alone a logbook for keeping track.

    Thought not.
