need them. If it was life or death, I might not have a choice, but
for routine infections and fevers, I would trust my immune system
first, and look for alternative remedies, over pharmaceuticals.

There is good and bad with alternative medicines, just with
conventional. What I like about my DO is he will try everything he
can to avoid medicines, but he will then write scripts if all else
fails.
Case in point. My wife's last physical last year, she had borderline
high BP. Top number 140s. The doctor said this was a warning sign ,
a bit high. An MD would probably just put her on a low dose BP med,
instead he gave my wife a cocktail of Hawthorne Berry, Co-q10,
magnesium, and these beet root shakes , which taste horrible by the
way. In addition, he told her to lose 10 pounds. Well, my wife got
those supplements, daily did those shakes, and joined a gym and hired
a trainer, she actually lost about 12 pounds. I take her BPs every
few days, the worst I see is high 120s, so the program worked. No
meds thank goodness.
Another example. A friend of mine saw him MD, his AIC was up. They
wanted to put him on Metformin. My friend did not want to start on a diabetic med, so i gave him the number of my DO. My friend was put
on a cocktail of several supplements, and he was referred to a
clinical nutritionist, for weight reduction and a carb controlled
diet. Six months later, his AIC is great, no need for meds.
For routine cuts and scrapes, I use tea tree oil. Very soothing,

So here is what I do know about antibiotics. Actually quite a bit,
as one of the guys I regularly play golf with on sunday is a

as one of the guys I regularly play golf with on sunday is a microbiologist. We have talked about this for hours, because it is interesting and good to hear from someone on the front lines of the research.
When someone comes to the hospital, and they have signs of infection,So you trust the microbiologist...
like a UTI, or pneumonia, or whatever, the doctors will often

best way to treat an infection according to my friend, is to treat
the symptoms, give IV hydration, and do cultures to the blood,

lab, now you know the target organism, and you can apply the optimal antibiotic. Problem is it can take hours or days for a culture to
return, they want people in and out, because it is all about making
money. Bottom line, many mistakes are made, causing death of good
flora and facilitating further resistance.
