• More Biden lies

From Tom Elam@21:1/5 to All on Sat Jul 9 07:02:00 2022
Biden claimed that "We have more Americans working in the private sector today than any day during Trump’s Presidency."

Partially true, but not the whole picture.

Source: U.S. BLS https://data.bls.gov/cgi-bin/surveymost?bls item Civilian Employment (Seasonally Adjusted) - LNS12000000

    Total Employment 12/2019 - 158,772,000
    Total Employment 06/2022 - 158,111,000

The difference is government employment recovery that has lagged behind the private sector.

Biden: "This has been the fastest and strongest jobs recovery in American history"

    False

From April 2020 to January 2021 total employment went from 133,320,000 to 150,004,000, a 12.5% increase in 10 months. Biden took office in February 2021. Total employment has increased from 150,367,000 to 158,111,000, a 5.2% increase over 17 months.
Distorted by the pandemic low to be sure, but Biden's claim is far from the truth.

Truth be told, we are just now getting back to the employment level prior to overreaching mandates that shuttered large swaths of the economy. Also, given that in normal times employment trends getting back to the levels of 2019 is not much of an
achievement. We should be well above 2019, not just at that level.

LOL! You are trying to have a conversation with total boneheads, that will be contrary for the sake of it. A man with all your education, trying to have a rational conversation with a college dropout, that never married, never had kids. Can you

It's really fucking aggravating to see any rapeublican/Trump apologist

No lies, I stated "partially true" on the total versus private sector numbers and pointed out the lag in government job recovery.

You can look at just the private sector and get the same result as total employment rate increase.

Biden was referring to his time in office. He did not qualify with any reference point. The truth is that the initial rebound from the pandemic low was several times faster than Biden's record, much of which was also a rebound effect.

If you look at the trend increase in total employment in the 97 months from 1/2012 to 2/2020 it was 185,900 jobs per month with an r^2 of 0.995. Extrapolating that trend to 6/2022 we should have 164,541,000 total employment as of last month, June 2022.
We had actually had 159,111,000 jobs, or 5,430,000 less than trend. We are catching up as job gains continue to exceed the longer term trend, but we are still a long way from getting back to an extrapolated pre-pandemic job trend and true full employment.

If that were true why did you fail to provide those figures...

...and why did you then contradict that claim by claiming that public
sector employments rates had fallen behind private sector.

Biden was referring to his time in office.

Can you quote him on that or are you relying of a falsehood, again, to
    make your point?

It appears you have made claims of falsehoods but been found to be the
one who is attempting to mislead and misrepresent.
