That is all...
No I mean the rugby columnist and his failed prediction on the England Ireland match.

Was he the only one whose prediction was wrong?
Why are you singling him out for opprobrium in a newsgroup the whole
world reads?

Did you see the stuff he wrote in the lead-up to the Ireland match?
It was cringeworthy England worshipping fanboism beyond belief,
topped off with his "All Blacks, poor dears, about to be expunged
from the record books" chest beating.
Haven't seen any other journalist write anything remotely similar.

I was quite disappointed (though my guesses would've been quite wide of
the mark, with a variable Scotland and a France side that actually turned
up this year.)

I hope you know me well enough by now to know that my irony wasn't accidental.

No. You seem to be confusing me with somebody who had heard of him
before you mentioned his name here.

You seem not to have read many other journalists.
People who predicted a second Grand Slam for England weren't far off
being right.

I was quite shocked, when I returned after an unavoidable absence, to discover that RSRU was apparently dead. It's good to see that you,
John W, James H and others are still here.
IMO, Scotland weren't "variable" in the 6N. They were merely
devastated by injuries. I agree that France have started to turn up,
but they might not turn up next year. Why knows?
Speaking of Scotland: there isn't a team in the world that could be
sure of victory against a full-strength Scotland squad. If Fraser
Brown, the Gray brothers, Hamish Watson, Aly Price, Finn Russell,
Tommy Seymour and Stuart Hogg aren't in the Lions squad this year,
I'll be angry.
