Just saying. Are the rest of you still alive? Answers on a post card, please. Obviously some will lack the ability to lick and stick a stamp in the correct order and these will fall into two distinct categories : the dead and most New Zealanders.

There's a lot of junk on this group and so it would seem that Paul Waite is still alive and kicking.

I have been surprised by the lack of message traffic during a World
Cup. I guess people are stunned by Japan beating Ireland.

Anyhow, congratulations on being alive still.

Still alive, and hoping to be so by the time Wales win a world cup.

Based on average life expectancy I've got about 7 or 8 more chances after
    this one.

I've still got my South Wales Echo sticker album from the first RWC
somewhere. Must look it out sometime.

D'ya think there's no hope for this one?

Early on I thought England were making a strong showing; but against
Argentina they eased off once they were ahead; NZ keep hammering the
opposition for a full 80mins (if not more).

Does that mean that should Wales win it it this year that you will see no reason to carry on living? Personally, I have no wish to be alive in thirty six years time but I hope that you stay the course. Obviously you will need to learn Chinese for your
day to day living and you might be better thought of in reassigning your gender several times over the years so as to fit in with the rest of society. I predicted gloom and doom would follow the introduction of professional rugby and I have been proved
    to be correct.

I was so enthralled by the France v Tonga game today that I left to go shopping in Tesco well before half time. To me it was just a game of thugs against inept French men but, always having been prone to over simplifying matters, I am sure that some must
have derived pleasure from it. It's nice to know that some things remain the same and being reacquainted with Phil Davies's ears brought a tear to my eye.

I still owe John Williams a curry.

Has anybody considered making a rugby forum on their own website?

Some chance of semis but can't see any further. Not got the strength in

Not only still alive I see, but also still stuck in a time warp. I presume the latter helps explain the former.

    You in Japan?

No, I am in Wales but have spent time in the Orient, taught English in Thailand and married a Thai woman. I was on the verge of creating a rugby forum on one of my websites but knowing that there is a relevant Facebook page I may not go ahead now.

Thank you for telling me about the page, I am not really a Facebook person but will consider opening an account in my real name. At present I have a "Mickey Mouse" account under a false name and it is used only to read about dogs and other pets who are
    missing locally.

I have just found the Facebook page but not had time to read it. It seems to be a closed group so it should be relatively junk free.

    Again, thank you.

Was anybody seriously surprised? Japan were unimpressive against
Russia and needed help from the referee to beat Samoa, but their win
against Ireland was a simple matter of an imaginative team beating a
team that had no Plan B.

In my opinion, all teams ought to refuse to play any more matches
until World Rugby confirm that NZ v Italy and England v France will be
played somewhere on Monday, but my opinion is worthless because I'm
not enormously wealthy and thus unable to increase World Rugby's vast
    profits.

I couldn't even afford to bribe a referee or two in order to exclude
such unprofitable countries as Fiji and Argentina from the
    quarter-finals.

Anyhow, congratulations on being alive still.

I regret to disappoint everybody by reporting that I'm also alive.

Why anybody would want to discuss Rugby on Twitface instead of Usenet
